Challenge
The main objective of the Castles and Medieval Walls of the Mondego Network is the cultural, tourism and economic promotion and development of the territory belonging to the medieval defence line of the Mondego river. This line includes the castles of Coimbra, Lousã, Miranda do Corvo, Montemor-o-Velho, Penela, Soure and the medieval lookout post of Buarcos, among others.
The aim of the E-GUIDE is to improve the tourist experience within the municipalities of the Castles and Medieval Walls of the Mondego Network and to promote of points of cultural interest using new technologies.
Solution
The solution was to develop an innovative tourist guide designed for Android smartphones. This guide allows you to plan tours according to the user's interests and availability, providing information to support navigation around the Castles and Medieval Walls of the Mondego Network. The application provides users with a vision of the available monuments through photos and historical backgrounds of the points of interest.
