Challenge
Entrepreneurship in the areas of knowledge and technology associated with knowledge intensive areas shows a very positive evolution, but insufficient compared to the European average. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of highly qualified personnel in technological areas, such as TICE - Information Technologies, Communication and Electronics, as a result of the prestige and high quality of university education in Portugal. However, the efforts of universities and entities of the scientific and technological system are focused on transforming knowledge into added value for companies from the perspective of work rather than from entrepreneurship.
Solution
Main Objective:
To strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs.
The Fuel project did contribute to stimulate the generation of new business ideas in the areas of qualified and creative entrepreneurship, promoting the development of ideas, the experimental validation and acceleration of those ideas, with the national and international entrepreneurship ecosystem. the project aimed the construction of a platform for entrepreneurs, artists from cultural and creative industries, mentors, business experts and investors, for the communication, interaction and storage of information.
Objectives, Activities and Results expected / achieved
Expected Results:
• Develop a platform to facilitate access to the means made available by the consortium under the FuEL program.
• Through dissemination actions, capture a wide and multidisciplinary network of mentors, business experts and investors - FuEL Expertises' Network Panel. This objective also covers the establishment of partnerships with other regional entities to leverage and mobilize resources and skills available in the action territory;
• Create and establish an integrated 360-degree business idea identification and acceleration mechanism that facilitates access for entrepreneurs and startups with technology- and creative-based solutions to funding, space, technical means, support services, and expertise;
• Dinamyze the FuEL Expertises' Network Panel in order to foster multidisciplinary systematic cooperation opportunities and catalyze innovative technology-based and creative solutions in the marketplace;
• Act in the entrepreneurship ecosystem by creating and dynamizing a community of inventors, mentors and investors and promoting contact with other innovation networks, established business pairs and clusters, in different regions of the national territory and internationally.
Results achieved:
• Platform- FuEL ROOM- accessible online;
• Capture of a wide and multidisciplinary network of mentors, business experts and investors - FuEL Expertises' Network Panel.
