Infrastructure expansion and adaptation
Challenge
1. To support technological and innovative entrepreneurship in the Central Region, through highly specialized incubation services for early stage companies;
2. Boost the growth of the "space economy" in the Central Region, generating qualified employment in this sector.
Solution
Expand by about 1,000 m2 and adapt the existing building for incubation of technology-based companies, with emphasis on hosting those incubated in the ESA BIC Portugal program, i.e. companies that use space technologies or assets to develop products and solutions for the terrestrial environment. These companies will receive specialized technical support to accelerate their growth and maximize their chances of success in the market.
Objectives, Activities and Results expected / achieved
The objectives to be achieved in the post-project are:
- Support/host 10 companies and 20 entrepreneurs coming from the ESA BIC Portugal program;
- Increase the average annual number of companies from the Physical Incubation and Coworking programs at the IPN Incubator by at least 25%;
- Contribute to the reception of, at least, 60 more highly qualified jobs in the total number of companies set up annually in the IPN Incubator;
- Increase the turnover of Physical Incubation and Coworking services by 65,000.00 in 2023 compared to 2017.
