Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) was present at Web Summit 2024, the world's largest technology and innovation event, which took place in Lisbon from 11 to 14 November.
Reaffirming its role as a driving force for innovation and entrepreneurship in Portugal, IPN used its stand as a point of interaction between startups, strategic partners, investors and national and international stakeholders.
Over the three days of the event, IPN received visits from important partners such as Critical Software, Ventures.EU, the University of Coimbra and UC Business, Capgemini, Altice Labs, the Repsol Foundation, Portugal Ventures, José de Mello Group, Lisbon Metro, Sanjotec and international organisations such as Inova Canada, EIT Digital, EIT Energy and ESA BIC Castilla y León, AICEP Madrid, among others.
Government representatives were also present, including the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Fernando Alexandre, who highlighted IPN's impact on the innovation ecosystem, and Councillor Miguel Fonseca, from the Municipality of Coimbra.
More than twenty startups incubated at IPN brought innovation and creativity to the Web Summit, presenting solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, sustainability and digital transformation. Among them, Framedrop.ai stood out by winning the event's most promising startup award, while companies such as expressTEC, EXO - Innovation and Sustainability, JSIO, Noytrall, Build.ing, Granter.ai, PURR.AI, TWEVO, S&DG (Storage and Distributed Generation) and ByTheLaw won the attention of investors and strategic partners.
