IPN promotes event about the implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Medical Robotics in the health sector

Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) will promote TEF-Health 2024, a satellite event of the Innovating Health Together Conference, happening on 15th October of 2024, at the Super Bock Arena Congress Center, in Porto.
Participation in the TEF-Health sessions is free of charge, but registration is mandatory and slots are limited. Register here.
During the event, topics such as the democratisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare will be addressed, with special emphasis on the challenges of the new European regulations - AI Act. In addition, there will be a presentation of the national and European vision of the tools available to support companies in developing and entering the market with new solutions.
The agenda will be divided in two sessions.
In the session “TEF-Health - An Tool for Alignment, Safety and Trust in AI in Europe”, the participants will have the opportunity to understand the role of TEF-Health in the creation of a safe and trustworthy AI ecosystem, as a regulatory tool for AI in the European Union - AI Act. Experts, including the project’s coordinator, Petra Ritter, will discuss how the guidelines and protocols developed aim to guarantee patient safety and data privacy.
Meanwhile at the session “TEF-Health - Open Call for SMEs and Success Cases”, small and medium companies (SMEs) will be invited to participate in the initiative TEF-Health. This session will provide details about the application process, the eligibility criteria, and the available support services.
Success cases from SMEs that have already benefited from the support of TEF-Health will also be presented, demonstrating how this initiative can accelerate the entry of the new AI and Robotics technologies into the market.
This event is an opportunity for students, startups and SMEs, stakeholders, health entities and those interested in innovation in the health sector to participate in the debate regarding the existing barriers in Europe for Artificial Intelligence and Medical Robotics and also get to know success stories that drive innovation.
Instituto Pedro Nunes leads the national consortium of TEF-Health which counts with the participation of the Local Health Unit of Coimbra (ULS Coimbra), the Local Health Unit of São João (ULS São João), the Ministry of Health Shared Services, Health Cluster Portugal and EIT Health Innostars.
