The winners of the Regional Business Ideas Contest, the last stage of the Coimbra Region Empreende+ (RCE+) program, were known on June 12, in the auditorium of the Coimbra Region Intermunicipal Community (CIM-RC).

The Regional Business Ideas Competition, an initiative of the RCE+ Acceleration Programme, awarded five financial incentive prizes, divided into two categories: the "General" Category and the "Female Entrepreneurship" Category, reserved for projects led by women. The monetary prizes ranged from 2,000 to 5,000 euros.

In the General Category, first prize was awarded to the HaPILLness project, a solution of medicated gums to be administered to animals, in second place Azulejo Digital, a solution of "durable signage, both in its physical and digital component", and in third place the Fiberloop project, a solution based on optical fibre to detect water leaks in the ground. The female category awards went to PurrAI, first place, with a project "focused on the early stages of drug discovery for neurological diseases" and Planeta Aguarela, second place, with "an environmental education project for children and families".

The 10 finalist projects (DigitalProgression, Fallware, Fiberloop, HaPILLness, On The Weave, Noytrall, Azulejo Digital, Planeta Aguarela, PurrAI and Rebobinar) presented their pitch that was attended by a panel of judges responsible for evaluating and awarding prizes, composed by Ana Silva, from the Sea & Industry Incubator of Figueira da Foz, Bruno Ramos Carvalho, from Active Space Technologies, Lara Mendes, from Coimbra Business School, Pedro Girão, from Triber Agency, and Sara Proença, from INOPOL.

Organized jointly by the Instituto Pedro Nunes Incubator (IPN-Incubadora) and the CIM-RC, the RCE+ program focused on supporting the development of business ideas and promoting qualified and creative entrepreneurship in the 19 municipalities covered by the CIM-RC. The RCE+ project is co-financed by the European Social Fund, under PT2020 and CENTRO 2020.
