EUROACE has a lot to improve in terms of its capacity for innovation, particularly in terms of turning research results into solutions applicable to the market. This requires increase spending on R&D&I, as well as increase the relative weight of resources engaged in technological and knowledge activities, especially women. Furthermore, in a territory with a poorly diversified productive sector, it is necessary to increase the competitiveness of companies, taking into account Industry 4.0 and the opportunities for economic diversification offered by new technologies for a key sector in the 3 regions, such as the agri-food and forestry sector.
The TID4AGRO project aims to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the EUROACE agri-food sector through the digitisation of its processes throughout the value chain and through the generation, validation and transfer of knowledge in advanced, innovative and digital technologies.
At the operational level, the project has the following objectives:
- Identify the digitisation needs of the agri-food sector and its stakeholders, and foster their connection with centres of competence and potential digital enablers;
- Develop and validate innovative digital solutions across the value chain;
- Evaluate and apply innovative technologies to improve products and make processes more efficient, by monitoring, sensing, automation and digitisation;
- To increase knowledge on innovative and digital solutions applicable in the agri-food sector through awareness-raising, dissemination and training;
- To prioritise the environmental component in terms of low carbon economy, climate resilience and climate adaptation.
