The current transport and logistics sector has been expanding significantly. COVID-19 has exacerbated the need for deep changes in supply chains, as well as in logistics networks worldwide, increasing the need for digitalisation of processes and procedures. This particular context exposed some of the sector's weaknesses, the greatest of which is its inability to respond quickly and efficiently to rapid increases in demand. On the other hand, the current macro-political and macro-economic context has also put pressure on the need to make logistics networks more flexible and resilient.
NEXUS aims to promote the digital and ecological transition towards the “port of the future” through the development of 28 new products and services with a high degree of innovation and differentiation.
These will include areas such as open data and AI applied to port operations, transport, and logistics, 5G, cybersecurity as well as predictive models and algorithms for the management of energy resources.
• Development of an open data collaboration platform;
• Development of 28 new products and services in the port and multimodal transports area.
