As part of the European project TID4AGRO – Innovative and Digital Advanced Technologies of EUROACE for the Agri-food Sector, the collection of sensory and neurosensory test data has begun. This activity is taking place at the Centro de Investigaciones Científicas y Tecnológicas de Extremadura (CICYTEX) and marks the beginning of sensor calibration and the standardization of the cherry tasting process, with the support of trained tasters.
This milestone represents another step toward the fulfillment of one of the project's objectives: developing a digital platform and artificial intelligence solutions for the sensory and neurosensory analysis of food products.
In close collaboration, the Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) and CATAA – the Agri-food Technological Support Center of Castelo Branco – are working on AI platforms capable of interpreting sensory and neurosensory data, enabling advanced quality analysis of food products.

TID4AGRO addresses the challenge of fostering innovation and competitiveness in the agri-food sector within the EUROACE region (Alentejo – Centro – Extremadura), in a context of limited economic diversification and a need for greater R&D investment. By integrating advanced technologies, sensorization, automation, and digitalization, the project aims to transform how agri-food companies operate—making their processes more efficient, sustainable, and technologically advanced.

The project is supported by a broad consortium of research institutions, universities, technology centers, public entities, and business associations from Portugal and Spain.
