On June 16, 2025, the Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) hosted a training day as part of its collaboration with the European working group “Mobility GT,” composed of postdoctoral researchers participating in IberTrib 2025 – the Ibero-American Tribology Conference held in Coimbra.
The “Mobility GT” group consists of former PhD students from European Marie Skłodowska-Curie programs (H2020 - ITN), who continue to engage in scientific activities and knowledge transfer aimed at the valorization and exploitation of research results in business contexts. Their visit to Coimbra coincided with the 2nd Network Wide Event (NWE) of the group, one of the main highlights of which was the collaboration with IPN.
The program included a visit to the Laboratory of Testing, Wear, and Materials (LED&MAT) and to Fibersight, a company incubated at IPN.
This was followed by a training session organized by IPN, structured around three main topics: Circular Economy and Eco-Innovation (led by Jorge Corker and João Duarte, Researchers at IPN); Intellectual Property (José Ricardo Aguilar, IPN's Legal Advisor); and the creation of spin-offs and support for technology-based entrepreneurship (Jorge Pimenta, IPN's Innovation Director, and Alexandre Almeida, Incubation Manager).
This initiative reinforces IPN's commitment to promoting applied science and fostering entrepreneurship.
