Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) is organising the training course “
European Regulation for Artificial Intelligence (AI Act) - Importance and Future Trends”, which will take place in person at the Accelerator Auditorium (Building D) at the IPN in Coimbra. The 3-hour course will take place on
27 March from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
This training aims to provide an overview of the AI Regulation and its possible impact on companies and other organisations, identifying good practices as well as the ethical and legal challenges associated with its use.
The course is aimed at compliance and legal professionals, managers and strategic decision-makers, AI developers and specialists, companies that use or intend to use AI, as well as consultants and academics interested in the topic. The training covers the following content:
- What is AI?
- Importance of AI and future trends | use cases;
- Overview of the AI Regulation;
- The main provisions of the Regulation and the relevant obligations;
- Q&A;
- Practical cases.
The training will be conducted by David Paula, senior associate in the Communications, Data Protection and Technology practice at VdA since 2016. With a law degree, a master's degree in forensics and a postgraduate qualification in intellectual property law, the trainer has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements, including SaaS and PaaS, cloud services, software licensing and MSAs. The expert often works on digital transformation, migration, contract management and the renegotiation of legacy contracts. In addition, David Paula also works in other areas, namely copyright issues, e-commerce and e-procurement, emerging technologies (in particular AI, blockchain, NFTs, robotic process automation and eSports).

here, with a 15% discount for companies incubated at IPN and 5% for two or more registrations from the same company (discounts not cumulative). Until 13 March, registration can be done for EUR 100 + VAT, rising to EUR 150 + VAT after that date.
