Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) organised, in partnership with UC Business, a session on the valorisation of knowledge and the creation of spin-offs on 5 December.
The initiative was aimed at the candidates of the Proofs of Concept by the Santander Portugal Foundation and was attended by 19 of the 21 eligible projects.
During the session, researchers from the University of Coimbra had the opportunity to learn, in an integrated way, about the forms of support that Instituto Pedro Nunes and UC Business provide at different stages of the journey of transforming research into innovation.
InEye, a company incubated at IPN, presented its journey from research to the creation of the startup. From the Centre for Neurosciences and Cell Biology at the University of Coimbra (CNC-UC), Luís Pereira de Almeida shared the path of valorisation of the research that his team is developing in the field of the treatment of Machado-Joseph Disease.
With moments of sharing and clarification, the meeting reinforced the commitment of both organisations to boosting the research and innovation ecosystem, offering strategic and technical support and funding opportunities to make the most of research results and turn them into successful businesses.
