TrainR4U: Masterclass in abdominal echography

The Masterclass "Introduction to Abdominal Echography assisted by Robotic Tele-Echography System", organized within the scope of the EIT Health TrainR4U project - Training Robot for Ultrasound, took place last September 7th, at the University of Coimbra’s Faculty of Medicine.
With the participation of physicians and medical students, the Masterclass consisted of 1h30 face-to-face sessions and was conducted by the academic team from the University of Coimbra, led by FMUC professors Luís Curvo Semedo and Nuno Pereira da Silva.

The aim of the Masterclass was to demonstrate an innovative component of abdominal ultrasound training using a remote manipulation robotic instrument.
The first edition of the TrainR4U “Training Course in Clinical Abdominal Ultrasound”, with online and practical training, will take place next October in Coimbra, followed by an edition in November in Barcelona, Spain.
