TEMPUS-SMHES
National Education Framework for Enhancing IT Students

Challenge

To support Ukrainian universities in establishing a structural change towards an educational system that promotes students' creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship in the IT related educational programmes in order to be more aligned to labour market needs and be promoters of economic development.

Solution

TEMPUS-SMHES aims to promote synergies between universities (focus on computer science courses), scientific research and the business environment by exposing students on these courses to contacts with companies and entrepreneurs from the start in order to facilitate better employability and entrepreneurships.

The project includes the following activities:

  • Identification of the best models and university-business cooperation structures, where IPN will be a case study, together with IKEA and the universities of Oxford and Dublin.
  • Development of an e-infrastructure to ensure the sustainability of a new ecosystem of university-industry cooperation.
  • Development of a web portal to facilitate contacts between students, companies and universities, and to enable the transfer of knowledge between the different players.
  • Support the definition of standards for ICT education in Ukraine.
  • Pilot course development in innovation and entrepreneurship for Ukrainian students.
