Smart Dispenser
Automatic LPG cylinder dispenser supported by artificial intelligence

Challenge

Currently, the LPG cylinder resale sector presents some inefficiencies since, although there are establishments with 24-hour service, the majority do not offer service permanently. On the other hand, the replenishment of these stations is, even today, carried out in a traditional way, through regular visits regardless of the actual market need, which translates into an inefficient process.

Solution

The SmartDispenser solution comes to respond to these two challenges. The aim is to create a smart gas bottle dispenser solution, which, being managed through a mobile application, will allow consumers to order, pay and unlock cabinets with the desired bottles, without the intervention of a professional. This system, through a cell phone application, will also allow distributors to know, in real time, the stock available in each dispenser, enabling visits to resale locations only when actually necessary.

Objectives, Activities and Results expected / achieved

Expected Objectives:
O1: Create a smart dispenser solution that allows the ordering, purchase, return and collection of gas cylinders without the need for employee intervention;
O2: Investigate and develop a solution for fraud detection based on computer vision;
O3: Investigate secure and low-power communication mechanisms between smart dispensers and mobile applications;
O4: Investigate and develop a solution for retrofitting current dispensers;
O5: Incorporate a distributor route and load optimization mechanism.
