Screening for phytopathogenic bacteria on plants, soil or substrates
In these tests, and in a first step, all available information on culture, symptoms, literature, etc. is collected in order to define a sampling and testing strategy. The identification of disease-causing bacteria in plants is carried out by isolation in conventional and/or selective media, followed by molecular identification. For some cultures there is no bibliographic description of the existence of specific phytopathogenic bacteria. In these cases, it is necessary to adopt strategies that do not involve isolation.
