In 2014, the IPN became the first Space Solutions Centre of the European Space Agency (ESA), among the 21 existing centres in Europe, to bring together the three technology transfer programmes promoted by ESA:
In the first five years, 30 companies have been supported, more than 100 jobs have been created and more than 4.6 M Euros of turnover have been generated, with 78% of that volume exported. 2020 has seen an equally remarkable growth: 12 more companies have been supported by ESA Space Solutions Centre Portugal, while the network of incubators that are part of the programme has grown from 3 to 15.
