Kiwifruit orchard installation: assessment of the phytosanitary status of the soil and plants prior to the installation

In order to install an orchard it is crucial to access the phytosanitary status of the soil since it may contain nematodes and fungi that are harmful to the plants. On the other hand, the acquired plants should be tested for the presence of Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Psa),fungi and nematodes prior to their installation.
/nIn accordance, this test was divided in two. Firstly the soil was sampled for nematodes with special attention to those know to be harmful for actinídea. Secondly, the plants were screened for the presence of Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Psa), fungi were isolated and identified and nematodes were collected from roots.
