The Laboratory for Automatics and Systems (LAS) is looking for candidates who want to embrace the challenge of implementing projects and support the digitalization of health in Portugal.

Description:
- Participation in the health innovation ecosystem - Digital Innovation Hub, an initiative committed to supporting the digital transformation in the health sector, namely in the SmartHealth segment, which includes the application of a wide spectrum of technologies for improved cost-effectiveness and health provision;
- Participation in the creation of the Testing and Experimentation Facilities for Health AI and Robotics, a Horizon Europe project that will develop a world-class reference testing and experimentation facility to carry out tests and experiments of AI solutions in health.

Main tasks:

- Health innovation project management, including monitoring its progress, ensuring proper maintenance of the schedule, scope, budget, implementation plan, achievement of milestones and objectives, and risk mitigation:
- Management and coordination of working groups involving companies, R&D institutions and hospitals;
- Coordination of internal and external project resources;
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and the project team, providing periodic feedback on the status of the project and any need for adjustments to the schedule, scope or budget;
- Keeping up-to-date project records and reporting, as often as necessary, to
stakeholders and funding entities;
- Management, in collaboration with the communication team, of communication and dissemination of project results;
- Promotion of actions for the valorisation, transfer and exploitation of scientific and technological knowledge;
- Scouting of needs in the market, aligned with the focus of the projects;
- Collaboration with research teams to promote actions to enhance scientific and technological results;
- Support in the preparation and monitoring of applications for national and European incentive programs for Innovation, Research and Technological Development.

Minimum requirements:
• Master in Biomedical Engineering, Physical Engineering, Health Economics or Nursing
• Proficient in English;
• Experience in R&D projects in the health sector.

Preferred factors:
• Entrepreneurial experience in the area of ICT for health and well-being;
• Know-how about the Medtech and digital health value-chain and market access in Europe;
• Have received Research Awards or Grants in the last 5 years;
• Experience in preparing proposals for European funding.
