The 5th Edition of ActInSpace will take place simultaneously in several cities and countries around the world on November 18 and 19, 2022. The participants will have 24 hours to develop innovative solutions that respond to the launched challenges.
Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) promotes, in Coimbra, the ActInSpace
, an international innovation competition dedicated to space applications. This initiative, initiated by the French Space Agency (CNES) and supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) and by the network of ESA Incubation Centres, will take place on 18 and 19 November. The participation of 78 cities in 37 countries has already been announced.
Aimed at students and entrepreneurs from all areas, ActInSpace will gather, during 24 hours, teams that will have to develop innovative solutions with space technologies based on the challenges established by the event's organisers and partners. The participants will count with the support of mentors, professionals in the areas of business management, business creation and technological innovation and technical experts.

The IPN was the first national incubator in the area of technologies and the first European ESA Space Solutions Centre. In 2014, the IPN became the first Space Solutions Centre of the European Space Agency, among the 22 existing centres in Europe, to bring together the three technology transfer programmes promoted by ESA: the ESA Business Incubation Centre, an incubation centre that currently integrates a national network of 15 incubators that support Portuguese companies using space technology in terrestrial applications or wishing to enter the commercial space market; the ESA Technology Broker and the ESA Business Application Ambassador Platform.
